Apple Valley

Here's a secret. Dave and I are looking for a lake property in Apple Valley! We have been busy over the past two weeks looking at properties, making offers, getting denied, looking more, and now talking to some builders. This new property is going to be a premier place to shoot family pictures, engagement pictures, and trash the dress sessions! Stay tuned for more information. I will keep you posted on our progress.

Backyard Beauty

I had been waiting for this wedding all year! Two years ago we shot Amber and Adam's wedding in her parent's back yard and now it was Britt and Dan's turn. Obviously, Amber and Britt are sister's. The Tesner's did an amazing job transforming their backyard into a beautiful garden. Every detail was perfect, thanks to Harry! They had the ceremony on one side of the yard with a beautiful fountain in the middle and the reception on the other side of the yard, big enough to hold 350 guests. The bar was under the garden terrace featuring an outdoor fireplace. Up close to the house was where all the guys hung out at the cigar bar! The ceiling of the tent was decorated beautifully with white lanterns. Needless to say, the list could go on! All the details were perfect and so were Britt and Dan. What a sweet couple! It was a pure pleasure shooting them. Here are some images from the big event. Thank you to the Tesner family for including us once again in their celebration!

Fall family portrait days are coming soon!

As many of you know, every year we offer family portrait days. Our fall family portrait day is always the most popular because of the upcoming holiday season. This year we are offering two days in the fall and one winter shoot. October 25th and 26th will be the dates for the fall. We will be sending out invites for this special by the end of the week. If you are not receiving invites and would like to be on the list, please email with your contact information. This year's sessions will be shot at some new and fun locations! Our session normally book within one or two days of the invite being sent, so don't get left out!

A day at the beach

A couple of weeks ago I went back to Indiana to visit my family. Since their house is so close to the beach, we ran out there one morning to let the kids play and take a few pix. I couldn't resist posting these.

Facebook

I finally did it! I am now on Facebook. I am looking for "friends" so if you are on there, let me know. I don't have much posted on there yet but I am working on it. Now I have to learn all the terminology so that I can with the times. I was resisting the whole thing for awhile but now it is kind of fun. I connected with a few people from high school last night. Seems weird how the internet can reunite people!

Nikon D200 for sale with power battery pack grip

We have for sale a Nikon D200 with power batter pack grip and two batteries. The camera is about a year old. We used it very little. It was our back up camera for weddings. Check out our listing on Craig's List.

MTV, Finally!

You know the MTV Super Sweet Sixteen that we shot 6 months ago? Well, it finally premiered this past Saturday!!!!! The first rerun was Sunday already. You could see my camera on the preview of the photo shoot and Dave got a close up right at the end of the show. He's a star! The party was so much fun to be a part of. Thanks again to the Stump family and their amazing planner Michael Bova of Zen Genius for letting us be part of that amazing event! If you want to watch the show, check out reruns on MTV under Taylor Stump.

I do want to say one thing about the show. It always depicts the kids as being spoiled brats. While we were shooting, we were really worried that it might not make the cut because Taylor was super sweet and very polite. Obviously lots of staging went on to create some major drama! The joys of reality television (not always reality!).

Home Run

Yesterday we had a beautiful day to shoot Sam's senior pix! Sam came down from Michigan to have us shoot her. We had shot Sam's aunt and uncle's wedding, Courtney and Ken, about 5 years ago. Sam is a huge softball player so we had to incorporate some shots on the field. Here is a sneak peak of some of her images!

Another year down

Today's my birthday! Happy birthday to me! So what should I do on my birthday? Well, my driver's license expires today so I guess I will sit in line at the license bureau and renew it. I might do a little work out at the gym and then eat all those calories back at The Cheesecake Factory tonight. I already have my birthday dinner picked out: bang, bang Chicken and Shrimp, raspberry lemonade and to finish it off, white chocolate peanut butter truffle cheesecake. That should make about 2000 calories!

Last night we had an early birthday celebration and going away dinner with my sister, Sara and her husband, Kris. We headed downtown to the Elevator! The elevator was good, but you know what was better, dessert at Jeni's ice cream. I got the trio with Cherry lambic, Lemon blueberry yogurt and salty caramel. They were all so different and yummy. After dessert we headed home to watch So You Think You Can Dance! What a great show!

And today it is good bye to Kris and Sara. They close on their house today and then head on vacation to the east coast. We will get to see them one more time as they head back through to Indiana. It is sad to see them go but I know we will see them often!

Craig's List - Check it out

As some of you know, my sister is getting ready to move back to Indiana. I know, very sad! More to come on that later. Since she is moving, she has been selling a lot on Craig's List. She has sold tons of stuff within one day. Since it has gone so well for her, this week I put up a kids play set and it sold in one day!! Yeah! Now I have the bug. Check out my listings. Anyone interested? I might be putting a camera up soon too!
